Dr. Elizabeth Banks

Veterinarian, Practice Owner

Pets are members of the family. They give us endless love, are excited to see us when we come home, and are sad to see us leave. They give the most altruistic form of love.

When I was a little girl, I remember telling my mom that the only thing our pets did wrong was not live long enough. I am passionate about keeping a pet as a healthy member of the family and giving them a voice. This means staying on top of all current veterinary recommendations and being proactive with their care.

My primary interests as a veterinarian include internal medicine, surgery, dermatology and allergies, ultrasound, and geriatric wellness care.

When I’m not working, I enjoy cheering on my boys with their various sports, being involved with their school, making memories with my family at Herrington Lake, and cooking and baking.

Dr. Kim Hill

Veterinarian

Dr. Hill is a native Lexingtonian. She graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, and has been practicing in Central Kentucky ever since. Dr. Hill’s main interests include wellness care, geriatric care, dermatology, and internal medicine. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 20 years, Ryan, and their 3 energetic boys Logan, Parker and Reed. Dr. Hill also shares her home with 3 pets; Timo, a miniature Schnauzer, Chili the Boston Terrier, and a cat named Fernando. In her spare time (ha!), she enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising, and attending her boys’ sports games.

Dr. Connor Huskey

Veterinarian

Pets have always played a huge role in Dr. Huskey’s life, so it was only natural for him to have an affinity for animals and helping them live a long and happy life. He was born in Paducah, but moved to Lexington while he was in middle school. He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree and then went on to attend Auburn for veterinary school. He missed Lexington, so he returned home to practice veterinary medicine. Dr. Huskey shares his home with Denali, a Shepherd mix he adopted during his first year of vet school. She’s cuddly, high energy, and loves everyone. In his spare time, Dr. Huskey enjoys watching sports (football, basketball, UK athletics), working out, taking Denali on long walks, cooking, and playing video games.

Kayla V.

Licensed Veterinary Technologist

Kayla was born and raised in Lexington. She wanted to work with animals since she was a kid, so it was only natural for her to pursue a vet tech license. After graduating high school, Kayla enrolled in Murray State University and graduated with a B.S. in animal science and agriculture. She finished her internship to become a licensed technician, and has been with Banks Veterinary Clinic ever since. At home, Kayla has 2 cats; Buc, a tabby, and Kimchi, an orange tabby (and little troublemaker). She’s dedicated to giving her cats (and our patients) the best lives they can have.

Tara R.

Licensed Veterinary Technologist

Born and raised in Madison County, Tara always had a passion for working with and helping animals. She was raised around dogs and cats her entire life. After graduating high school in 2017, Tara got accepted into Morehead State University. She received her associate of applied science in veterinary technology in 2019, then passed her VTNE in 2020 to become a licensed veterinary technician. In 2021, Tara received her Bachelor of Science in veterinary technology. As a member of our team, she goes above and beyond to ensure that our clients leave with a better understanding of their pets. Tara has always felt that animal health care is just as important as human health care. At home, Tara has a Rat Terrier named Sandy, whom she adopted from a shelter in 2019, and her mom’s cats, Boo and Hank. In her spare time, she loves listening to music, and going for walks with Sandy and cuddling up with her to watch Netflix.

Allyson P.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Allyson was born in Lexington, KY and lived her whole life in Richmond. She was raised on a farm and has always loved animals. She also loves the science of veterinary medicine, and helping pet owners give their companions the healthiest life possible. Allyson is currently attending Morehead State University’s veterinary technology program and will be taking the VTNE in July 2023. She looks forward to graduating with her bachelor’s in May 2024.

Allyson has 5 dogs at home: 2 Australian Shepherds, Blue and Lola; a Golden Retriever named Abby, a Rottweiler mix named Rocky, and a Great Pyrenees named Oakley. She also has a cat named Lorenzo, whom she has raised since he was just 2 weeks old.

Outside of the practice, Allyson helps her mom on the farm where they have tons of animals, including chickens, goats, cattle, peacocks, turkeys, and geese. She also enjoys creating art in her spare time, particularly Bob Ross-inspired landscape paintings.

Justin E.

Veterinary Assistant

Justin is a Kentucky native, born in Richmond and raised in Berea. Growing up, his family always had a dog, from a Chow mix named Cinnamon to many Dachshunds. He wanted to work with animals since his mid-twenties, but worked many other jobs before landing his position here at Banks Veterinary Clinic of Beaumont. He originally went to college to become a fire investigator, and later worked as an automotive technician. Justin started working with us as a volunteer before being hired on full-time, and he plans to attend vet school in the not-so-distant future. One of the things he loves to do in his role as veterinary assistant is reciprocate the affection that animals give, and promote positive energy to build trust and maintain a positive relationship with people and their pets. Justin has a four-legged family member of his own, his “main dude” Ollie, a Husky/Shepherd mix who loves belly rubs. Outside of helping animals and people, Justin is passionate about basketball, football, woodworking, craft beer, video games and sports cars.

Caryssa M.

Veterinary Assistant

Caryssa is a life-long resident of Lexington, KY and she has 5 siblings. She has always loved working with and being around animals, and currently shares her life with one pet, a cat named Maeve. As a valuable part of our team, Caryssa is dedicated to giving every pet the best possible experience at our clinic, so they won’t be anxious or fearful about going to the vet. She also strives to go above and beyond with our clients, to treat them and their pets with the utmost respect. In her spare time, Caryssa likes spending time at the lake, hanging out with her friends and family, and going on drives and listening to music.

Brooke A.

Customer Service Representative

Brooke was born and raised in Lexington. She became a vet receptionist so she could have a career she truly has a passion for. Brooke has a wonderful family that includes two dogs; a Beagle mix named Blue and a Great Pyrenees mix named Korra. Korra was rescued from the Lexington Humane Society and thinks she’s much smaller than she really is. Blue acts as the household doorbell, barking up a storm whenever the mailman comes by. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and journaling. She also loves concerts and stand-up comedy.
